What is Cloisonné Enamel Painting?

Cloisonné enamel painting, also known as Jingtailan craft painting, is a traditional art form originating from the renowned "Eight Treasures of Yanjing," specifically the Jingtailan and flower thread techniques. This ancient craft, dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, combines traditional methods with modern techniques, including painting and color embedding from both Eastern and Western artistic expressions.

The process involves using metal threads and natural minerals, and is executed entirely by hand. It includes design, sketching, cloisonné, and coloring through multiple intricate steps. The final artwork showcases fine, clear lines of metal threads, rich and natural colors, and a profound, elegant craftsmanship that is both striking and sophisticated.
